MEET OUR TEACHERS

CREDITS: Glenn is an Emmy and Genesis Award winning artist with over 30 years experience as a professional film, television, and concert music composer and songwriter. As a performing guitarist and vocalist, he has toured the world as a member of the group Sha Na Na and worked on countless recording sessions. He has worked with stars such as Pee-Wee Herman, Jennifer Aniston, Kanye West, Steve Martin, The Beach Boys, Morgan Freeman, Little Richard and Shelly Duvall. His concert works have been performed by multiple symphonic and  chamber ensembles.
CREDITS:    Three Top 10 Billboard Charting Hits, BoyzIIMen, Randy Crawford, Mark Award (Best Orchestral Library Piece 2017) though Warner Chappell, Numerous Sesac Awards, JAZZIZ Top Ten Album, Contracted to score for the following shows… Alone, America’s Most Wanted, Real Housewives of New Jersey, MTV Movie Awards, Who the Bleep Did I Marry and many more…
CREDITS: A film, TV and game composer born in Santa Monica, California. He is perhaps most known for his scores to the hit animated series; THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, STARWARS: CLONE WARS and more recently CLARENCE. As well as his feature film scores; JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, VENOM, EUROTRIP and SCARY MOVIES 3,4, and 5. Jim is a graduate of EIS and was fortunate enough to study with Spud from book 1-12 and continues to apply the Equal Interval System in all of his music.

MATT GIBBS…

CREDITS:   A composer, guitarist, and private music teacher located in Nashville. Matt studied EIS with David Blumberg and Glenn Jordan, graduating in 2014. As a composer for live performance and multimedia, his clients include The Birmingham Children’s Theater, the NFL, NASATV, Netflix, among others. As a guitarist, he has performed with multiple symphonies, with various touring artists, and as a session musician. Matt has privately instructed guitar, music production, and music theory for over 25 years.

MIKE WORTH…

CREDITS: A composer and Emmy award winning orchestrator, having worked on films, television shows, and video games. Mike has written original music for feature films such as Rush Hour 3 (featuring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan), and composed music for the feature film, Blood Brothers.  In television, Mike was an orchestrator and MIDI orchestrator for Nickelodeon’s The Wonder Pets, and has received a team Emmy award for his work on the show. Mike’s music has been used on television shows playing on MTV, BET, and TNT.
CREDITS: Tom studied EIS with Spud from 1984-1989. He is a graduate of the USC Film Scoring Program, where he was co-director and a faculty member from 1983-1990. Tom’s compositions and orchestrations have been recorded by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Buffalo Philharmonic, Long Island Symphony and performed at the Barcelona World Exposition. Tom has been conductor/music director for numerous artists including: Paul Anka, Bobby Vinton, Olivia Newton John, Carol Channing, Paula Abdul, Rita Moreno, Melissa Manchester and Nathan Lane. Tom currently runs a popular website for singers called PianoTrax.com which hosts more than 20,000 piano recordings.

TIM TORRANCE…

CREDITS: Tim is a versatile guitarist and media composer. He has composed for Disney (101 Dalmatians, Disney’s Doug), Cartoon Network (Code Name Kids Next Door), Nickelodeon (CatDog), Warner Brothers (The Batman, Superman, Scooby Doo, Loonatics Unleashed), PBS, Discovery Channel, A&E Network. He won the Wattrelos Film Festival Best Original Score award for the short film “The Privilege Cage”. As a guitarist, he has performed with Rita Coolidge, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Gap Mangione, Eric Marienthal, David Benoit, Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, among many others. Tim appeared on American Bandstand, Solid Gold, Merv Griffin and toured the United States and Japan as the lead guitarist for the acclaimed rock band “Sneaker” that penned the hit “More Than Just The Two Of Us”.

DAVID ALFONSO…

CREDITS: David received his wheel (graduated EIS) from Spud in 1989 and has been doing music for media ever since. His work has been in many television shows, from Amazing Race to Wicked Tuna and a number of adverts, from Boeing to Southwest Airlines. He has written TV themes for Me Time, The Game Plane, Unsolved Mysteries, It Only Hurts When I Laugh, TD Jakes Show (2014 run), Hollywood Science, Just For Laughs (ABC version), Thank God You’re Here (NBC version), Big Saturday Night and ABC Sunday Night Movie. His themes for television specials include Paley Center Salute to Will & Grace, Critics Choice Awards, Betty White’s 90th Birthday Special, Christmas in Rockefeller Center and TV’s 50 Funniest Phrases. Film work includes tunes for placement in Little Fockers, The Hills Have Eyes and Hoods.

CREDITS: 1992 – 2002: arranger for Dutch band “The Beau Hunks”.
1997: musical director for movie “Tropic of Emerald”.
2018: incidental music for movie “The Conductor”
1990 – present: free-lance arranger for a. o. The Metropole Orchestra, Dutch Swing College Band, Bayerische Rundfunk Orchester
